Certified Master Guides (CMG)

As of 2008

Certified Master Guides (CMGs) have at least 5 years of active guiding experience in Washington, D.C., and have demonstrated mastery of professional guiding skills and content knowledge by passing both written and oral exams. The minimum 2-year in-depth course of study includes education seminars, guiding skills, business skills, and professional participation in travel and tourism. The evaluation is done on a motor coach by evaluators who are actively involved in the tourist industry, not by members of the Guild.
