The Guild is a member of the World Federation of Tourist Guide Associations (WFTGA), an organization with members in 30 countries which was founded in 1985. The goals of the WFTGA are:

• To establish contact and to reinforce professional ties with tourist guide associations throughout the world;
• To represent, promote, and protect the interests of tourist guides internationally;
• To promote high standards and ethics in guiding and to enhance the reputation of the tour professional.

The Guild is a member of the National Federation of Tourist Guide Associations (NFTGA-USA) which seeks to raise private, public and governmental awareness of the tourist guide's role nationally and to give tourist guide associations a common voice in dealing with tourism-related issues.
