Membership as a Friend of the Guild of Professional Tour Guides of Washington, DC, gives your organization the following benefits:
l. MEMBERSHIP DIRECTORY
A listing in our comprehensive directory, which includes the telephone numbers, addresses and descriptions of more than 375 licensed tourist guides, more than 40 tour company operators (Affiliates), and approximately 60 other Friends. (historic sites, dining places, museums, photographers, institutions, etc.)
2. WEBSITE LISTING
A listing in our list of Friends of the Guild on this website, increasing your visibility to the touring public, with a link to your website.
3. THE CAPITAL GUIDE
The Guild's informative monthly newsletter with a calendar of events and articles relating to the Washington DC metropolitan area tourism industry, and one quarter-page ad printed in one issue of The Capital Guide. Please send to the editor one camera-ready copy of your ad in black and white or, preferably, a digital file as an email attachment. The copy (including any border lines) should be no larger than 3-1/4 inches wide and 3-3/4 inches high. Advertising copy received by the tenth of the month usually will appear in the next month's issue.
4. BIENNIAL SHOWCASE
Opportunity to market your business at our biennial trade show, "Showcase," usually held in November.
6. BUSINESS MEETINGS
Opportunity to network and share information about your business with tour guides and tour operators. Monthly meetings (except during April, May and June) are held at various sites of interest to the tourism industry and are announced in the Capital Guide.
7. MEMBERSHIP MAILING LABELS
One set of free labels. Second set of labels costs $60.
