Our own Steve Kline CMG and a trained docent at the Library of Congress (LOC) has offered to lead a group of CMG's and CMG candidates on a tour through one of the two exhibits known as " Drawing Justice the Art of Courtroom Illustration” The exhibit showcases 98 out of the thousands of the LOC’s extensive collection of Courtroom Art illustrated by some of America’s best artists who were hired by newspapers and television networks to capture special moments from some of America’s most sensational trials taking place during the last 50 years. This occurred because TV cameras and still cameras were barred at this time from most courtrooms in the country, and these illustrations replaced the television and still camera shots in the courtroom on the 6:00pm news and the covers of your newspapers.
The second exhibit adjacent to “Drawing Justice” is another new and popular exhibit entitled “Echoes of the Great War- American Experiences of World War 1.” This incredible exhibit which is at the entrance to the Pavilion housing the Jefferson Library and Drawing Justice, teaches through incredible showcases of photographs, documents and videos about the American experience of living thru World War 1.
Steve is arranging for one or more docents trained in this exhibit to take the group thru World War 1 as Steve was trained to guide groups through "Drawing Justice."
Since some of the physical space to guide and to engage a group is limited, we can only accommodate 20 CMG and CMG Candidates on this tour and will be hopefully dividing the group into two groups of 10 each so that everyone has the best chance to see each exhibit and to engage each docent
