Capitol Hill residents and Guild Certified Guide Tim Krepp and CMG Candidate Anthony Spadafora will lead small group tours of this National Historic Landmark.  Guides will gain knowledge about the first national cemetery whose current mission to “preserve and protect our historic yet active burial ground while interpreting our heritage represented by those who are interred here” closely matches that of the work of the Guild.

Those wishing to pay respects to fellow Guild members Armen Tashdinian, Ilony Gyorffy and John Pontius, interred at Congressional Cemetery will have an opportunity to do so as we gather in the chapel for a small reception.

Registration for the event is free for members of the Guild.  It is made possible by Armen Tashdinian’s bequest.

For questions about this event, contact Jamie Johnson at capitolcity1790@gmail.com.

The event will run from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm on November 15th, 2018. 1801 E street SE, Washington, DC 20003

Congressional Cemetery is located between Stadium Armory and Potomac Ave. metro stations on the Blue/Orange/Silver lines.  It is about .4 miles walking distance from both.   We will meet at the chapel by entering the gatehouse at Potomac Ave. and 18th Streets. S.E.

Those looking for more information about the cemetery will find a plethora of resources on the website, to include brochures for various themed self guided tours. http://www.congressionalcemetery.org/history.asp
