  • In anticipation of the 2019 DC Cherry Blossom Festival, Ann McClellan, the author of two cherry blossom books: "The Cherry Blossom Festival, Sakura Celebration" and "Cherry Blossoms, The Official Book of the National Cherry Blossom Festival," will be sharing her expertise with The Guild. Ann is the recipient of a Certificate of Commendation from the government of Japan for “promoting mutual understanding between our two countries through [her] great efforts and activities with cherry trees.” Her life-long love of trees began in New Jersey where she was lucky enough to grow up at The Lawrenceville School, an arboretum-like campus laid out by Frederick Law Olmsted. Now a Washington, DC, resident, she has held executive positions at the Smithsonian Institution, World Wildlife Fund, and the American Association of Museums among other prestigious organizations. Visit annmcclellan.com for information about Ann and her books.
  • DeAngelo Baynes and David Lipscomb from the DC Department of Transportation will present a Transportation Update for Spring touring.

N.B. Attendees who do not register for the meeting in advance WILL NOT earn CEU credits.

Getting To The Library of Congress (LOC)

The LOC Jefferson Building is located at 10 1st St SE, Washington, DC 20540. The use of public transportation is recommended. The nearest metro stops are Union Station on the red line (.7 mile walk) and Capitol South on the blue/orange/silver lines (.3 mile walk). The Circulator Bus that previously took 1st St past the LOC from Union Station is no longer an option to the Library. That bus has been rerouted to go southeast on Mass Ave on its way to Congress Heights. For other bus route information please visit www.wmata.com.

Metered parking and 2-hour DC Zone 6 spaces are available to the east of the Library in the Capitol Hill neighborhood.
