Your perspective is needed to help shape outreach strategies for the Peace Trail on the National Mall. On Wednesday, December 12, from 10am-11:30am, The U.S. Institute of Peace (USIP) will host 15 Guild members at its headquarters to brainstorm on how to promote the Peace Trail among student groups and others visiting our nation’s capital. The Peace Trail on the National Mall is a collaboration of the Guild, the National Park Service, and USIP. Launched about a year ago, the Peace Trail highlights stories of peace, reconciliation, and unity for a number of sites on the northwest corner of the National Mall. To grow the use of the Peace Trail, we’d like to hear from Guild Guides.  To participate you don’t need to be expert on the Peace Trail but be willing to offering feedback on a draft worksheet, as well as discuss the advantages and challenges of incorporating the peace themes into tours with students and teachers.  The invite is open to all Guild Guides, however, to facilitate discussion the December 12 event will be capped at 15 participants. To sign-up go to the events page of the Guild website or email Maribeth Oakes at Please rsvp by Dec 9, 2018.
