The discussion will cover how the Honor Flight organization works and the unique characteristics and expectations that might be encountered as a volunteer tour guide for Honor Flights.

Our speaker, Lauren Burycka, is the Honor Flight Tour Guide Coordinator for the volunteer tour guide flights that fly into Reagan National. Guides who attend her orientation then get on her email list and receive announcements of upcoming arrivals. Volunteer guides reply to her and are assigned on a first come first serve basis. Most flights have multiple motor coaches, requiring several guides. Although the number of WWII veterans has unfortunately lessened with the passage of time, the number of Honor Flights has increased each year with the addition of Korean War and Vietnam War veterans.

The session is FREE to Guild members. Attendees will earn one Continuing Education Credit (CEU).

Nearest Metro: Reagan National Airport

A week before the event, registrants will receive directions and a map for locating the Terminal A Conference Center.
