The International Spy Museum needs 16 of our members (guides and tour operators) to participate in a pre-opening so we can help them test their systems. They need us to play the role of "visitor" NOT "tour guide."

To summarize what is stated in the email below, you need to be available on April 11 at 5:00 PM for a conference call and on April 17 from 5:00 - 6:30 PM at the museum for the test run.  The new museum is located at L'Enfant Plaza and is easy to access from the L'Enfant Metro Station.

Please email me by Sunday, March 31, if you can participate. PLEASE DO NOT USE "REPLY ALL" to this email.

In the email below, our POC at the International Spy Museum describes what they planning:

The International Spy Museum is conducting limited “Test Runs” before its opening on May 12th, and would like to invite Guild Members to take part in this opportunity. The date scheduled for this test would beApril 17that 5:00 p.m..

The “Mission” for the volunteers is to take on the role of a traveling adult group and while looking through the eyes of “Tourist/Tour Group”, they will take part and experience, or test, the following. Please note, at present time this is the list however as the Museum continues its progression, this list may be subject to change.

  • A rough cut of the briefing film
  • Interactive use and testing including Air Duct, Hang Time
  • RFID Experiences
  • Video/Artifact Viewings

This test will provide the Museum the ability to test and practice the following:

  • Group check-in procedures and policy
  • Que and elevator systems and access
  • Guest service systems
  • Flow and timing in specific areas
  • Noted observation of how guests interact with the Museum

For this “Mission” we will need a total of 16 people, to arrive together (if volunteers arrive after 5:00 p.m. they will not be able to take part or catch-up with the group) to play the role of the touring group with 1 person to play the role of the groups Guide/Group Leader.. To be a part of this group, all volunteers must allow 1-1.5 hours for this experience and most importantly, be available tojoin a conference callwith Lori Scott, Sales Executive at the International Spy Museum, at5:00 p.m., on Thursday, April 11thwhere we will receive pertinent instructions prior to the group test date.
