The Guild Fall Trip has become a tradition of camaraderie centered on our shared interests in interesting places, history, scenic beauty, sites tourists often visit, as well as sites off-the-beaten path.  This year Eric McElroy will lead us to Almost Heaven…West Virginia for some unique sites – Spruce Forest Artisan Village which showcases regional artisans; the Green Bank Observatory where the National Science Foundation scans the skies for radio frequencies from galaxies beyond our own;  and the Davis and Elkins College Stirrup Gallery where 3500 years of history can be experienced.  You will eat well at the Penn Alps Restaurant, the Gandy Dancer Dinner Theatre and the Vintage Restaurant and Wine Bar.  Guild Fall Trip participants will ride 2 historic trains on their last 2019 operating routes in both the Cass Scenic and the Cheat Mountain Salamander Trains.  Do not be surprised if along the way there are black bear or bald eagle sightings against stunning mountains and waterfalls.  Top this off with the Trans Allegheny Lunatic Asylum, to view historically not to leave anyone!
