TMSIDK programs are open to all Guild members as observers and questioners. This CMG education program features 3 or 4 CMGs and/or CMG Candidates who will each prepare a short presentation on a subject of interest to all Guild guides. Veteran guides know the basics about the sites and historic persons memorialized in Washington, DC. TMSIDK will provide new information and deeper truths about familiar subjects. Each presentation will be followed by a brief Q & A.
CMG Kathleen Bashian will coordinate each salon. CMGs and CMG Candidates who wish to present should email Kathleen at email@example.com.
Responsibilities of Presenters:
- Prepare a short presentation in advance (no unscripted chat here)
- If visuals are employed know how to access them easily during the online presentation
- Confer with Kathleen Bashian in advance with any questions
A facilitator will be tasked with:
- Introducing each speaker
- Fielding questions submitted by attendees
- Keeping salon on time (total of 75 mins per salon)
The next Salon will take place on Tuesday, May 26 from 11:00 am to 12:15 pm. Any Guild member is welcome to join the salon as an observer and questioner. The salon is a learning experience with helpful, factual information that can be used on tour and an excellent forum to experience virtual tourism.
The Salon Program will focus on statuary

- Grant Memorial: Jim Carr (In preparation for Jim's presentation please view this short YouTube video before the event)
- Sculptor Evelyn Beatrice Longman: Maribeth Oakes
