After being welcomed by Allison Wickens, Mount Vernon's Vice President for Education, and she gives us the highlights of the new orientation film, and new digital and virtual offerings, tentative topics for presentations by Mount Vernon staff are:
- Mansion Tour Logistics under COVID-19
- Trees at Mount Vernon
- Slavery at Mount Vernon
- Curatorial staff will look at the future of the research that went into "Lives Bound Together" and how that will live on when the exhibition closes. They will also explore locations around the Estate, some obvious and some not so obvious, where
discussions about slavery at Mount Vernon and in the 18th century can be initiated.
- Guest Services Update
There will be a short Guild Member Meeting at the conclusion of the Mount Vernon Update
PLEASE NOTE: Two hours prior to the meeting you will receive an email with a link to join the videoconference. If you decide at that time not to participate, simply ignore the email. If you find you do not want to participate prior to
the meeting date please follow the instructions on how to cancel your registration in the confirmation email.
In order to ensure that the meeting organizer has all email addresses required for the videoconference invitations, registration for this event will close at midnight the day before the event.
You may join the videoconference on a tablet, computer, or smartphone. Be aware that if you choose to dial the optional phone # to participate you will not have access to the video portion of the event. The Guild is using GoToMeeting
for videoconference Education, Training, Book Group, and other online meetings and events. This software is FREE to meeting participants so please ignore all vendor references to "start for free" or "free trials". Meeting participants
do not need to register for GoToMeeting accounts nor purchase any "package" from them. Please make sure you do not PAY for anything related to GoToMeeting.
All attendees registered by the deadline who remain online for the majority of the meeting will earn 1 Continuing Education Credit
