Annually on February 21, the World Federation of Tourist Guide Associations (WFTGA) celebrates International Tourist Guide Day to highlight the role tourist guides play in the tourism industry. Events and activities are held by member associations to showcase the skills and professionalism of tourist guides. Member associations encourage their members to participate in training and educational events to grow their skills and be the best in their profession.
The Guild of Professional Tour Guides of Washington, DC is a member of the WFTGA. Guild membership consists of tour guides, Affiliate members, and Friends.
